[Hiring] Staff Product Engineer @LegitScript

1wk ago - LegitScript is hiring a remote Staff Product Engineer. 💸 Salary: unspecified 📍Location: USA

Role Description

The Staff Product Engineer owns the technology behind LegitScript’s certification program, both the internal and external portals that merchants and advertisers use to apply for and manage their LegitScript certification. You own both halves of that platform: how it is built and what it should become.

This role will act as the technical owner of a business-critical, externally facing platform that LegitScript is bringing in-house, with end-to-end responsibility for its architecture, reliability, and the product decisions that shape the certification experience. The level reflects the ownership and judgment the role carries, not the size of a team you manage.

The Staff Product Engineer will be directly assessing, directing, and collaborating on fixing what needs fixing, and putting the engineering practices in place that keep the platform healthy.

You influence through clarity and example, not decree. You measure success by whether the certification platform is more scalable, more maintainable, and better understood than you found it, and by whether the people who depend on it (the merchants pursuing certification and the internal teams who run the program) are better served because of the decisions you make.

What You'll Do

  • Own the architecture, scalability, and reliability of the certification platform (the externally facing Experience Cloud portal and the Salesforce data model and automation beneath it).
  • Own the quality and technical realization of the certification product experience.
  • Take ownership of the instance and the remediation already underway.
  • Work directly with merchants and advertisers to define scope, set priorities, and translate business needs into sound technical design.
  • Shape certification direction together with the Certification Innovation Manager and others.
  • Establish and enforce Salesforce engineering governance.
  • Define architectural standards for declarative and programmatic solutions.
  • Lead modernization where it earns its cost.
  • Anticipate and resolve scaling constraints.
  • Own security and reliability for an externally facing portal.
  • Design and own integrations between the certification platform and LegitScript’s broader CRM.
  • Foster improvements to the Certification Console and other internal Salesforce based tools.
  • Set the standard for code and configuration quality, testing, documentation, and review.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Deep, hands-on Salesforce expertise across both configuration and code.
  • Production experience building and operating Experience Cloud sites for external users.
  • Strong command of Salesforce platform limits and scaling techniques.
  • Source-driven development and release management experience.
  • Integration design across REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to inherit an unfamiliar or poorly maintained org and improve it.
  • A product mindset: comfort owning outcomes rather than tickets.
  • Experience working directly with users and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Comfort operating in a period of change.
  • Familiarity with the current Salesforce platform direction.
  • Relevant Salesforce certifications are a plus.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial time building on the Salesforce platform.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and operating production Salesforce solutions at scale.
  • Experience owning the technical health of a Salesforce org.
  • A track record of shaping product or feature direction for an application you built.
  • Experience outside of Salesforce in building services, APIs, and web applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Flexible work options.
  • A team that's genuinely invested in your success.
