[Hiring] Senior Product Owner - Virtual Cards @E-Merge IT Recruitment

Role Description

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Product Owner with strong Virtual Card / Payments experience to join an innovative AI solutions business. This is a key product role for someone who understands the payments ecosystem, virtual card products and digital financial services, and who can translate business requirements into clearly defined products and technology solutions.

• You will take ownership of the product direction and delivery of a Virtual Card solution, working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and clients to define requirements, prioritise features and drive the product through the development lifecycle.
• The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, technically strong and comfortable operating in an environment where AI, automation and modern payment technologies are central to the solution.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in Product Ownership / Product Management
• Strong Payments industry experience is essential
• Proven Virtual Card experience is essential
• Deep understanding of virtual cards, card issuing and/or payment platforms
• Experience owning and defining payment products from concept through to delivery
• Strong understanding of payment processes, integrations and digital financial services
• Experience working with technical development teams and managing product backlogs
• Strong experience defining user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements and use cases
• Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technology solutions
• Experience working within Agile / SDLC environments
• Strong technical understanding of APIs, integrations and modern software development
• Exposure to AI and LLM-based solutions would be highly advantageous
• Experience working with clients and managing competing priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Experience with testing and quality assurance across product releases

Requirements

• This is not a generic Product Owner role.
• We are specifically looking for someone who has hands-on experience with Virtual Cards and Payments and understands how these products operate within a technology environment.
• You should be comfortable talking to both business and technical stakeholders, challenging requirements where necessary and taking ownership of the product outcome rather than simply documenting requirements.
