Role Description
GEICO is looking for an accomplished, customer obsessed, and results oriented Sr. Product Manager – Insurance Platform Services to join GEICO’s Sales Capabilities team. As Sr. Product Manager, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical vision and specific solutions needed to solve business and customer problems.
- Break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.
- Support cross-functional teams focused on improving the customer experience, modernizing our experience and platforms, and leapfrogging the competition to grow and maintain market share.
- This position is preferably a hybrid role, however, exceptional remote candidates will be considered.
- Hybrid locations include: Washington, DC, Fredericksburg, VA, San Jose/San Francisco, CA, & Seattle, WA.
In this dynamic role, you'll be key to driving GEICO's digital transformation by being part of a growing Product Organization working in cross-functional teams to implement cutting edge technologies, foster a culture of innovation, and ensure seamless integration of digital solutions across the organization.
If selected, you will be responsible for working with Technology and Business on requirements, describing and managing the solution of a specific product or initiative, while also coordinating/communicating between different workstreams.
- Lead cross-functional teams that drive results during product discovery and product delivery.
- Synthesize business, market, and platform data to identify opportunities, size them, and turn insights into requirements.
- Own and prioritize the long-term (6+ months) product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes.
- Work closely with a cross-functional team to ensure that all the right resources are aligned to ensure success.
- Leverage modern architecture & great design to identify problem-solution fit.
- Evaluate trade-offs and negotiate requirements.
- Create and use compelling, informative artifacts to influence stakeholders (ex. Vision, Roadmaps, Features/Epics, Progress Updates, etc.).
- Understand current and future state architecture.
- Evaluate and decompose user needs into technical features and stories.
- Hands-on experience with building, implementing, and monitoring APIs.
- Identify and measure KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), with an eye to adjusting and refining your roadmap as the data dictates.
- Have an end-to-end understanding of features and how they fit into the larger ecosystem.
- Coach and mentor other Product Managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 5 years of experience in Product Management
- At least 5 years of experience translating features into consumer or associate facing products
- At least 7 years managing all aspects of a product feature throughout its lifecycle from concept to delivery
- At least 7 years leading cross-functional teams that drive results during product discovery and product delivery
- At least 3 years of experience building and shipping technical products
Requirements
- Experience driving product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions
- Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction
- Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI, Sales, Customer Support, Finance, or Marketing
- Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Insurance industry experience preferred
- High sense of accountability and strong problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as software engineering or computer science
- Agile certifications preferred (i.e., SAFe, Scrum Alliance, Scrum.Org, ICAgile, PMI-ACP)
