[Hiring] Senior Mobile Live Game Product & Economy Consultant @Numrah

3wks ago - Numrah is hiring a remote Senior Mobile Live Game Product & Economy Consultant. πŸ’Έ Salary: unspecified πŸ“Location: Worldwide

Role Description

We're looking for an experienced Mobile Live Game Product & Economy Consultant to work on a competitive free-to-play mobile game currently in soft launch on iOS and Android, with paid user acquisition running. The role sits at the intersection of game economy, monetization, retention, and player experience. We need someone who can look at the mobile game as a connected system rather than optimizing each area in isolation. The main areas of focus are:

  • FTUE
  • Economy balance
  • Monetization
  • Retention

What You'll Focus On

  • FTUE & Early Player Experience
    • Help us understand how quickly new players reach the fun and where we lose them.
    • Assess tutorial completion and drop-off.
    • Evaluate time to meaningful gameplay.
    • Analyze early-game difficulty.
    • Determine how quickly players understand the core mechanics.
    • Understand how much complexity players can absorb early.
    • Identify what should be introduced immediately versus later.
  • Economy & Progression
    • Evaluate the currencies, progression systems, sinks, faucets, and overall power curve.
    • Look at progression pace.
    • Analyze currency generation and spending.
    • Assess resource scarcity and progression gates.
    • Identify sources of player demand.
    • Determine what players value enough to spend on.
    • Evaluate power progression versus competitive fairness.
    • Assess pay-to-win risk.
    • Define long-term progression goals.
  • Monetization
    • Help shape a monetization structure that supports the mobile game rather than undermining it.
    • Focus on first-purchase strategy.
    • Design and sequence offers.
    • Set price points and regional pricing.
    • Segment payers.
    • Convert non-payers to payers.
    • Evaluate battle pass viability.
    • Assess rewarded ads.
    • Determine monetization placement.
    • Build a spending ladder beyond the first purchase.
  • Retention & Live Game Depth
    • Assess whether the mobile game gives players enough reason to keep coming back.
    • Evaluate core loop depth.
    • Analyze match quality and perceived fairness.
    • Define short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
    • Assess progression and collection motivation.
    • Evaluate daily and weekly engagement loops.
    • Identify events and content cadence.
    • Explore LiveOps opportunities.
    • Analyze churn and return behavior.

What Makes the Role Challenging

These systems pull against each other. More monetization pressure can damage competitive fairness. Poor fairness damages retention. Progression changes can affect matchmaking, engagement, and spending at the same time. We're looking for someone who has made these trade-offs on a live F2P mobile game, used real player data to make decisions, shipped changes, and measured what happened afterward.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience working on live free-to-play mobile games.
  • Deep practical knowledge of game economy and progression.
  • Strong understanding of monetization and retention.
  • Experience making economy, balance, progression, or monetization decisions on a live mobile title.
  • Ability to analyze raw player and product data directly.
  • Strong understanding of cohorts, funnels, retention, conversion, and player behavior.
  • Good judgment about when the data supports a conclusion and when it does not.
  • Experience turning analysis into clear product recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of competitive integrity and pay-to-win risk.
  • Ability to work effectively across product, game design, economy, analytics, and LiveOps.
  • Strong written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

  • MOBA experience.
  • Competitive PvP experience.
  • Mobile soft-launch experience.
  • Experience with paid-UA-driven mobile games.
  • Experience with battle passes, offers, LiveOps, or rewarded advertising.

Engagement

  • Type: Part-time / Consulting contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Working language: English
