Role Description
MIS (Mainstreet Insurance Solutions), part of The Baldwin Group, is looking for an experienced Product Manager to own the Stratus platform β our customized Salesforce CRM and the operational core of our embedded insurance business. This role leads product strategy, roadmap execution, and cross-functional delivery for Stratus and sits at the intersection of advisor tooling, partner integrations, and carrier connectivity.
You will work closely with engineering, operations, and business leadership to ship high-impact improvements that directly enable advisor productivity, partner growth, and our embedded insurance distribution strategy.
What You'll Own
-
Platform Roadmap & Delivery
-
Own the Stratus product roadmap end-to-end β from intake and prioritization through launch and adoption.
-
Define and maintain a clear, prioritized backlog that balances near-term business needs with longer-horizon platform investments.
-
Translate requirements from business stakeholders, operations, and distribution partners into well-scoped, actionable epics and stories.
-
Partner with engineering to streamline release processes and advocate for delivery practices that get improvements into advisors' hands faster.
-
Advisor & Operations Enablement
-
Serve as the product owner for advisor-facing workflows β including quoting, cross-sell prompts, document automation, and carrier payment workflows.
-
Identify and eliminate friction points in day-to-day advisor workflows through data analysis, user observation, and close partnership with operations leadership.
-
Coordinate across platform teams to ensure carrier eligibility rules, compliance requirements, and appointment-based controls are accurately reflected in the CRM.
-
Partner & Carrier Integration
-
Own the CRM layer of carrier and distribution partner integrations β ensuring new carriers and partners are onboarded into scalable, well-documented workflows.
-
Collaborate with quoting and lead orchestration teams to maintain data integrity, routing accuracy, and a consistent experience across the platform.
-
Support the ongoing expansion of MIS's carrier network and distribution partnerships by ensuring Stratus can scale to meet new volume and product requirements.
-
Stakeholder Alignment
-
Serve as the primary product voice for Stratus in business reviews, leadership updates, and cross-functional planning sessions.
-
Build strong working relationships across operations, data, telephony, and technology teams to keep roadmap dependencies visible and sequenced.
-
Support executive communications with clear delivery status, risk visibility, and ROI framing for platform investments.
Qualifications
-
4+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years owning a Salesforce-based platform in a B2B or enterprise context.
-
Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-team roadmaps with competing priorities and shared infrastructure dependencies.
-
Strong understanding of CRM workflows, advisor or agent tooling, and integration patterns (APIs, middleware, webhooks).
-
Experience working within enterprise release and change management processes, with the ability to advocate for smarter, faster delivery practices.
-
Exceptional communication skills β able to translate technical constraints into business language and vice versa.
Requirements
-
Insurance, insurtech, mortgage, or fintech industry background.
-
Familiarity with policy management systems (e.g., Applied Epic), quoting platforms, or embedded distribution models.
-
Experience with contact center platform integrations (e.g., CxOne, NICE) or real-time agent coaching tools (e.g., Balto).
-
Exposure to AI/ML-powered product features, lead scoring, or automation workflows.
-
Salesforce admin or developer certification is a plus but not required.
Who Thrives Here
-
You're comfortable in a fast-moving environment where the roadmap evolves and you're expected to exercise judgment, not just follow a playbook.
-
You build trust with both technical teams and business stakeholders β and know when to push back vs. when to align.
-
You care about the downstream impact of what you ship: advisor outcomes, partner retention, and conversion metrics.
-
You see operational constraints as problems to solve, not just limitations to accept.
