Role Description

Cayenta is seeking an experienced Product Owner to drive the development of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, which includes Financial Management, Human Capital Management, and Work Management. This role is the critical link between our users and our development teams.

• Own the product backlog and ensure that every sprint delivers meaningful value to users.
• Make daily prioritization decisions, write user stories grounded in real operational workflows.
• Bring the voice of the user into every sprint and maintain focus on the backlog.
• Passionate about Agile principles and helping others succeed.
• Strong facilitation expertise, emotional intelligence, and a drive to eliminate obstacles.

This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada and the US, with travel required as needed (approximately 25%). Candidates must hold a current, valid passport and be legally eligible to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or PSPO (Professional Scrum Product Owner) certification.
• 4+ years of experience as Product Manager/Product Owner or equivalent.
• Experience and proven track record working in Agile environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices.
• Ability to set and communicate the product vision and sprint vision.
• Decisiveness under ambiguity.
• Excellent domain curiosity.
• Ability to say “no” with credibility.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical fluency.

Requirements

• Own and prioritize the product backlog.
• Manage sponsor expectations through regular communication.
• Attend daily stand-ups to keep the development team aligned.
• Decompose large features into small, independently valuable user stories.
• Serve as the development team’s primary point of contact during sprints.
• Build and maintain personas, user journeys, and workflow models.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers for usability and workflow efficiency.
• Facilitate sprint reviews and product demos.
• Communicate effectively across audiences.
• Act as a cross-functional connector.
