[Hiring] Product Builder @Cloudtalk

4d ago - Cloudtalk is hiring a remote Product Builder. πŸ’Έ Salary: unspecified πŸ“Location: Europe

Role Description

Most product ideas die in the gap between "someone should look at this" and "a squad has capacity next cycle." As a Product Builder, you close that gap by being the whole loop yourself: you find the problem, talk to the users, build the thing, ship it, and read the result. You own the path from problem to outcome. Not just the spec. Not just the ticket. The whole thing.

This is not a Product Manager who writes some code, and it is not an engineer who sits in on discovery calls. It's a single role that holds discovery and delivery in the same head, and uses AI to make that possible at a speed a three-person trio can't match on exploratory work. You'll work in the messy, high-ambiguity spaces around our Core Platform Product, our AI Voice Agents, Calling Apps and our product-led surfaces - the friction nobody owns, the repeated support question, the idea that's too early for a squad to commit a cycle to and too valuable to drop.

Our empowered squads own our committed roadmap and they're good at it. You own the things that haven't earned a squad yet. A good week for you isn't "I shipped a lot." It's "we now know something we didn't know on Monday, and there's working software proving it."

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the problem before anyone has written it down
    • Find the friction in support tickets, churn calls, and the gaps between teams.
    • Sharpen it into a hypothesis with a metric attached.
    • Talk to users weekly to run interviews that surface behavior.
    • Run several bets in parallel, exploring multiple opportunities.
  • Build and ship it
    • End-to-end delivery: prototype, build, test, ship to production.
    • Ship small and early, prioritizing real customer feedback.
    • Hold the quality line by writing tests and considering failure modes.
    • Build AI-native solutions, understanding models and their limitations.
  • Read the result and decide
    • Instrument before shipping to define success metrics.
    • Kill your own ideas based on performance without needing permission.
    • Hand off deliberately to the owning squad when something works.
  • Work AI-first, and make it count
    • Use AI as a multiplier, not the point.
    • Create repeatable workflows for research synthesis and prototyping.
    • Raise the floor by sharing patterns and improving others' throughput.
  • Stay connected while working alone
    • Over-communicate your explorations and learnings.
    • Be commercially honest about the value of your bets.
    • Collaborate with squads and share discovery insights.

Qualifications

  • The Full-Loop Operator: Experience from "I noticed a thing" to "customers are using it in production."
  • The AI-Fluent Builder: Re-engineering work with AI (Level 4 on CloudTalk's AI fluency ladder).
  • The Comfortable Killer: Experience in shutting down work and learning from it.
  • The Discovery Practitioner: Continuous discovery as a core work method.
  • The Ambiguity Native: Startup or scale-up background with experience in undefined environments.
  • The B2B SaaS Realist: Understanding of sales-assisted and PLG models.
  • Nice to have: voice, telephony, or real-time systems experience.

Success Metrics (First 90 Days)

  • Shipped, not planned: Two or three validated experiments live with instrumented results.
  • At least one kill: Shut down something and explained why.
  • A hypothesis backlog: A visible, prioritized set of opportunities sourced from customer contact.
  • One clean handoff: Transfer something built to an owning squad with documentation.
  • Loop time: Median time from hypothesis to customer-facing test measured in days.

Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO that people actually take.
  • Fully remote with four European hubs.
  • A coach you can book for career conversations.
  • Promotions without guesswork through a transparent job-leveling framework.
  • A path to equity based on exceptional results.
  • Recharge Fridays: 4 extra all-company days off a year.
  • Fitness allowance for activities of your choice.
  • Up to €5,000 per referral for great engineers.
  • Two offsites a year for team bonding.
  • Hackathons twice a year to ship new ideas.
  • Fresh CloudTalk swag every year.
