[Hiring] Principal Product Manager @Indeed

Role Description

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to set the strategic direction and lead the cohesive evolution of Job Seeker Discovery across the Home Page, Search Results Page, and Job Details surfaces. In this role, you will:

• Align senior partners across design, engineering, analytics, AI Platform, back-end, and go-to-market teams around a unified product vision.
• Identify the highest-leverage opportunities.
• Translate complex user, business, and technology considerations into clear priorities and durable product direction.
• Guide discovery and delivery across multiple teams.
• Establish the frameworks and operating mechanisms needed to make cross-surface decisions.
• Use data, research, experimentation, and strong product judgment to improve relevance, engagement, and downstream outcomes.
• Balance long-range strategic leadership with hands-on influence over critical initiatives.
• Ensure that emerging AI capabilities are integrated thoughtfully and that the overall experience evolves into a cohesive system.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 15 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience; or a PhD with 8 years experience.
• Demonstrated mastery across multiple product areas, platforms, or customer segments.
• Track record of setting and executing product strategy for complex portfolios or initiatives without direct management authority.
• Excellent analytical foundation with demonstrated experience defining success metrics and building measurement frameworks.
• Proven ability to own end-to-end discovery for zero-to-one product initiatives.
• Experience designing how multiple products and platforms work together.
• Ability to align cross-functional partners and senior leadership on strategy, priorities, and trade-offs.
• Experience mentoring and elevating product managers at multiple levels.

Requirements

• Set and continuously refine strategy for a product portfolio or critical initiative spanning multiple teams, surfaces, and customer segments.
• Remain deeply involved in the most complex product decisions.
• Define success metrics for the portfolio and establish mechanisms to track initiative progress and product health.
• Influence the roadmaps and priorities of teams you don't directly manage.
• Design how multiple products, platforms, and integrations work together over time.
• Ensure portfolio strategies create meaningful value on multiple sides of the marketplace.
• Mentor product managers across levels, elevating discovery, delivery, and measurement practices.
