Role Description

The Director of Product Marketing provides strategic leadership over the company’s residential and commercial product portfolio, including product strategy, pricing, packaging, promotional governance, and commercialization initiatives. This role is accountable for driving market competitiveness, subscriber growth, retention performance, and revenue optimization across the organization’s telecommunications offerings. Working cross-functionally with executive leadership, Sales, Finance, Technology, Operations, and Customer Experience, the Director ensures product and offer strategies align with company objectives, operational capabilities, and evolving market conditions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own the residential and commercial fiber product roadmap in partnership with Network, Sales, and Finance.
  • Translate market dynamics and customer insights into a prioritized product and offer agenda grounded in economics and competitive positioning.

  • Govern SKU design to support all sales channels including ecommerce and billing systems.
  • Define and manage promotional levers and gift card programs with surgical deployment discipline.
  • Drive margin discipline on offer design, equipment bundling, and add-on attach strategies.
  • Own upsell and cross-sell programs designed to increase customer lifetime value.
  • Partner with Finance to model offer economics and defend yield targets.
  • Lead cross-functional go-to-market execution for new products and promotional offers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for billing and ecommerce technology teams, ensuring offer architecture is accurately built and maintained.
  • Act as marketing’s lead on billing system migrations, ensuring offer structures and SKUs are accurately represented through transition.
  • Partner with the Customer Experience team to develop and govern retention offers that support their strategy and protect the subscriber base.
  • Ensure retention offer structures remain consistent with the broader pricing architecture and do not undermine acquisition economics.
  • Partner with peer leaders across brand strategy, demand generation, and marketing operations to ensure consistent attainment of company revenue goals.
  • Represent marketing in executive level discussions on offer performance, competitive response, and roadmap prioritization.
  • Track attach rates, promotional effectiveness, tier mix, and competitive win/loss — driving course corrections as needed.
  • Maintain competitive benchmarks by market archetype and surface actionable insights to Sales leadership and the CMO.
  • Monitor cable and fiber overbuilder activity to ensure the team is always positioned to respond quickly.
  • Ensure all offers are clearly structured, easy to navigate, and compliant with transparency standards.
  • Champion simplicity in packaging design to reduce friction across all acquisition channels.
  • Lead and develop a team of two managers covering residential fiber and commercial and complex products.
  • Set clear priorities and build a team culture oriented around speed, rigor, and market impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 7+ years of product marketing, product management, or offer strategy experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Telecommunications industry experience required — deep familiarity with fiber products, pricing architectures, and billing systems.
  • Strong financial acumen — able to model offer economics, read margin impact, and defend pricing decisions with data.
  • Proven track record driving ARPU growth through pricing strategy, packaging design, and upsell programs.
  • Experience supporting billing system migrations or complex systems transitions.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to influence without authority across functions.
  • Commercial or SMB product marketing experience including B2B acquisition and complex product sets.
  • Experience with fixed wireless or multi-product ISP environments.
  • Prior experience in a post-merger or integration environment.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong experience working with billing systems, CRM platforms, ecommerce systems, and customer account management tools.
  • Experience utilizing reporting and analytics platforms to evaluate product performance, subscriber trends, ARPU, churn, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large data sets to support pricing, product, and business decisions.
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Jira, Asana, or similar tools.
  • Experience working within telecommunications operational systems, including provisioning, ordering, and product catalog environments preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate internal systems, reporting tools, and emerging technologies.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to perform computer functions and operate routine office equipment.
