[Hiring] Director, Product Management @Helium 10

Role Description

We are seeking a Director of Product Management to drive execution across Helium 10’s product portfolio and to lead the product managers who deliver it. This role runs the discovery and delivery of our innovation agenda beyond the Amazon marketplace seller — into direct-to-consumer and multi-channel commerce, Walmart and TikTok, and AI-native experiences. This director will be responsible for turning agreed priorities into a sequenced, resourced roadmap and for making sure the team ships it on time and at quality.

Innovation is central to this role, and it is hands-on work. The Director of Product Management will run our new-product pipeline:

• Validating, building, and launching the bets that open new revenue lines and new audiences.
• Running structured discovery with sellers and brands.
• Prototyping and testing quickly.
• Defining what success looks like before we build.
• Retiring ideas that don’t earn their place.

This leader will bring rigor to how we evaluate emerging opportunities — AI agents, autonomous workflows, and adjacent channels — and work with go-to-market teams to land them with customers.

Innovation into direct-to-consumer expansion is a core focus. As brands diversify across Shopify and their own storefronts, Google, and social commerce, our portfolio has to follow them. This director will lead the discovery, requirements, and delivery of the features that serve a DTC-first brand, and partner closely with product marketing, growth marketing, and sales to bring those products to market.

This is a hands-on, execution-first role.

• Sets strategy and direction for the function while also driving execution hands-on.
• Run weekly operating cadences, review specs and requirements, unblock your team daily, and stay close enough to the detail to catch problems before they reach a release.

The role is based in the United States and requires regular, direct contact with customers: discovery interviews, advisory sessions, and time in the field with brands and agencies. Deep familiarity with marketplace e-commerce, direct-to-consumer e-commerce, and SaaS product-led growth environments is strongly preferred.

This role reports to the VP of Product Strategy & Ops and manages the product management function globally, leading both the U.S. product management team and the China-based product management team.

• Leads the global product management function through a mixed structure — managing the U.S. product managers directly, and leading the China product management team through its manager.
• Sets direction and shared standards for both; delegates day-to-day execution oversight in China to that manager, while staying closely involved in the U.S. team's execution.
• Comfort leading and developing a team across time zones and cultures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Roadmap Development: Translate agreed priorities into a sequenced, multi-quarter roadmap and drive it to delivery. Run the planning process end to end, make explicit trade-offs between core platform work and new-growth bets, and keep commitments and dates honest.
• Innovation Delivery: Run the pipeline of net-new product opportunities — from problem identification through validation, prototype, pilot, and launch.
• Direct-to-Consumer & Multi-Channel Expansion: Deliver the products that take Helium 10 beyond the Amazon seller — Shopify and owned storefronts, Google, Walmart, and social commerce.
• AI-Native Product Development: Identify where AI agents, generative creative, and LLM-driven workflows create real customer value rather than novelty, and build them into the roadmap with clear adoption and quality measures.
• Customer Discovery: Personally lead and scale customer discovery with sellers, brands, and agencies.
• Market & Competitive Intelligence: Stay ahead of market developments, platform changes, and the competitive landscape across marketplace and DTC tooling.
• Cross-Functional Execution: Partner with engineering, design, data, and QA to ensure roadmap commitments ship on time and at quality.
• Commercialization Partnership: Work with product marketing, growth, and sales on positioning, pricing, packaging, and launch readiness.
• Business Impact: Define success metrics for every initiative and hold the team accountable to outcomes, not outputs.
• Hands-On Team Leadership: Manage the day-to-day work of the product management team across the U.S. and China.
• Team Development: Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing product management team across the U.S. and China.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in product management, including 5+ years of senior leadership experience, with experience managing both individual contributors and managers across a global function.
• 10+ years in product management, including at least 3 years directly managing product managers in a SaaS, e-commerce, or data platform company.
• Demonstrated 0-to-1 experience: you have launched net-new products or business lines that opened a new audience or revenue stream.
• Proven track record of delivering a multi-team roadmap on time and at quality, across more than a single feature area.
• Deep knowledge of the e-commerce landscape across both marketplace (Amazon, Walmart, TikTok) and direct-to-consumer (Shopify, owned storefronts) models.
• Working fluency with AI- and ML-enabled products — agents, generative creative, LLM-driven workflows.
• Strong customer discovery craft: comfortable running interviews and focus groups directly, synthesizing qualitative signal, and defending decisions with evidence.
• Experience directly managing distributed product teams, and influencing engineering and design organizations outside your reporting line.
• Analytical rigor with tools such as Amplitude, Tableau, or SQL, and proficiency in agile product development methodologies.
• Exceptional operational execution and attention to detail, with the communication skills to influence senior stakeholders.

• 401k with Employer Match
