[Hiring] Director of Product @Autobooks

Role Description

As Director of Product, you’ll lead the development and growth of our small business receivables products. You’ll thrive at Autobooks if you’re passionate about delivering the highest quality user experience to customers. This is an individual contributor role that is empowered to create measurable growth for this set of products, backed by a talented engineering and QA team.

In this role you will drive the growth of our receivables features, from strategy through execution, growth, and iteration. You’ll be empowered to design and build projects with AI, then work closely with your engineering teammates to ship. You will be accountable for shipping features and product improvements that meaningfully impact business metrics:

• TPV (total payment volume)
• Invoice conversion
• SMB activation
• Retention
• Revenue

As a Director of Product, you have the ability to:

• Identify a product opportunity
• Size and prioritize it
• Design and iterate over prototypes
• Ensure that the details are taken care of in a way that makes sense to the user and achieves the objectives

You’ll primarily work on 2-to-6-week projects alongside engineers and our QA team. Within the projects, you’ll lead the ongoing UX and design conversations and guide the team in making informed trade-offs that keep the work high quality and delivered on time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in SMB SaaS, payments, fintech or accounting tools
• 3+ years leading a domain, product line or team
• Strong background in Jobs-to-be-Done
• Deep UX sensibility and strong copywriting orientation
• Data Analysis with SQL/KQL
• Strong business acumen: driving product metrics tied to revenue, usage, growth, and retention
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity

• Take ownership of the user flow and copy — and can defend every decision
• Produce draft UX flows, button copy, and edge-case behavior before design involvement
• Care deeply about the craft of user experience and hold yourself accountable for the details
• Clarify problems, restate objectives, and align the team to first principles
• Positive outward energy for helping customers and colleagues succeed
• Manager-of-one able to organize, prioritize, and make tradeoffs to keep work high quality and delivered on time
• Enjoy solving problems and working with engineers and designers to improve products
