[Hiring] Director, Category Manager - Renewable Energy Components @EnergyLink Sourcing, LLC

Role Description

This is a fully remote position open to candidates currently residing anywhere in the United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available. The role includes up to 30% domestic and international travel.

EnergyLink is seeking a Director, Category Management – Renewables with proven experience leading Category Management teams supporting utility-scale Wind, Solar, and BESS EPC projects. This role will oversee sourcing and procurement of critical infrastructure materials, including:

• Racking systems
• Inverters
• Transformers
• Structural steel
• Wire and cable

You will define and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, ensure supply continuity, and support safe, on-time project delivery across the portfolio.

You will provide senior-level leadership to a team of Category Managers, setting direction, developing talent, and driving accountability and performance. Partnering closely with executive leadership, operations, finance, and project teams, you will align sourcing plans with demand forecasts, capital programs, and long-range business objectives.

This role owns strategic supplier relationships, supplier performance and risk management, and category governance. You will leverage market intelligence and analytics to navigate pricing volatility, geopolitical risk, and capacity constraints while driving innovation and long-term value through supplier partnerships. You will represent the sourcing function in executive forums and contribute to enterprise-wide planning and decision-making.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management within complex, capital-intensive environments.
• Strong experience supporting Wind, Solar, and BESS EPC projects.
• Proven negotiation skills with strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional and senior leadership stakeholders.
• Highly analytical and execution-focused, comfortable using data and market intelligence.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Electrical Engineering, or related field); APICS/CPSM or similar certification preferred.

Requirements

• Experience leading teams and executing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies.
• Strong experience sourcing materials such as solar racking systems, steel piles, structural steel, inverters, transformers, MV/LV cable, wire, switchgear, and balance-of-plant components.
