[Hiring] Associate Product Owner @TotalMobile

Role Description

As an Associate Product Owner, you’ll bridge the gap between real-world housing challenges and tangible product improvements. You’ll work alongside experienced Product Managers and Product Owners to:

• Break down complex problems into clear, actionable user stories.
• Help shape the backlog and guide delivery teams.
• Ensure what gets built genuinely meets the needs of housing organisations and their customers.

This role has been designed with growth in mind. You won’t be expected to have all the answers on day one. Instead, you’ll:

• Develop skills across agile delivery, customer discovery, and product lifecycle management.
• Work closely with experienced colleagues and engage with housing customers.
• See firsthand how product decisions are shaped by real user needs and sector demands.

Day to day, you’ll be embedded within a product team, helping to:

• Keep delivery moving and aligned with customer value.
• Collaborate with users and stakeholders to understand real-world challenges.
• Translate challenges into well-defined requirements, epics, and user stories.
• Manage and refine the backlog, ensuring it’s prioritised and aligned with the wider roadmap.
• Play an active role in sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
• Identify dependencies, remove blockers, and help maintain delivery standards.

You’ll also begin to build your own product expertise, developing a deep understanding of the solutions you support and the problems they solve within social housing.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrable interest in product, technology, or digital delivery.
• Experience in the social housing sector, whether through working with housing providers or delivering software into the sector.

Requirements

• Mindset and ability to apply sector knowledge in a product environment.
• Curiosity, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with others and sharing ideas.
• Experience with tools like Jira or Confluence is a plus.
• Understanding of agile ways of working.
• Interest in user-centred design, SaaS products, and mobile platforms.
