[Hiring] Associate Product Manager @Amplify

3d ago - Amplify is hiring a remote Associate Product Manager. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 115,000 - 120,000 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

Associate Product Manager is the entry-level position to the product management career path. APMs have product owner responsibilities, ensuring the development team has a dedicated resource focused purely on the execution and delivery of the product roadmap.

  • Develop customer empathy: conduct customer interviews and observe classrooms with curiosity to translate raw insights into actionable product requirements.
  • Be the expert in your area: know the market, use case, and capabilities of your product, and monitor performance in the field.
  • Gain market intelligence: research and communicate competitive landscapes, identifying new opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Cross-functional leadership: inspire your cross-functional team of engineers, designers, learning scientists, interaction developers, and marketers to rally behind a shared vision, understand the business context, and execute against goals.
  • Own the requirements: write clear, concise pitches, product briefs and user stories that meet user needs and business objectives. Ensure your team understands context, problem to solve, and what success looks like, and that stories/epics are ready for development.
  • Own the prioritized backlog: manage trade-offs between speed, quality, scope, and feedback so the backlog reflects the most valuable work for your team. Conduct sprint planning and backlog grooming with your team.
  • Be the team athlete: act as the "utility player" for your team, focused on unblocking engineers and designers, supporting designers in completing deliverables, investigating a reported bug, triaging an issue, and doing whatever else it takes to deliver your features successfully.
  • Understand success metrics: learn how your team measures success. Track and report on feature-level metrics, and develop fluency in how your work contributes to product and business outcomes.
  • Deliver requirements-aligned features: accept user stories, document release notes, communicate with internal stakeholders about feature delivery, and support external communications.
  • Embrace AI: learn about AI capabilities. Partner with AI experts and engineers to explore how AI can improve the ways we work and support feature development.
  • Continuously improve: collaborate with your team in retros, supporting continuous improvement for both how we work and what we build.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of experience, with an undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in an EdTech-adjacent role (e.g., teaching, customer success, product marketing).
  • A high degree of empathy for teachers and students.
  • A keen eye for building delightful experiences.
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Evidence of leading projects and influencing others without direct authority.

Requirements

  • You have a learning mindset and child-like curiosity - approaching situations with a fresh perspective rather than accepting "the way things have always been done."
  • You communicate with empathy - explaining complex technical concepts to a non-technical teacher in a way that makes sense.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit - seeing problems and fixing them without being asked.
  • You have an analytical mindset - you can look at a spreadsheet of student performance data and find the "story" behind the numbers.
  • You like to learn and try new things - including learning more about AI and ways it could make classroom time more engaging and help teachers be even more effective.
  • You are not afraid of ambiguity - fearlessly tackling the unknown (brand new areas and challenges).
  • You make decisions - prioritizing work for your team and yourself based on value delivered and effort required.
  • You lead with trust and influence - not relying on direct authority to get work done.
  • You have a genuine passion for educational equity - believing that technology should empower teachers, not replace them, and that all students deserve access to high quality education and outcomes.

Benefits

  • Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package.
  • Includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs.
  • The gross salary range for this role is $115,000 - $120,000.
  • This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
