Role Description

This position offers the ability to work remotely five days per week.

The Bureau of Investments (BOI) at Michigan Department of Treasury is looking for a dynamic leader with:

This position acts as the Operations Administrator providing overall planning and direction to the Operations Division of the Trust Accounting and Operations Bureau, which is responsible for:

• Multi-billion dollar settlement activities of all securities purchased, sold, or matured for the State of Michigan Retirement System Fund
• State Treasurer’s Common Cash Fund
• Various agency and trust funds

This position also directs and oversees:

• Multi-million dollar daily cash control functions associated with trading and income cash funds
• Accounting transaction preparation functions associated with limited partnership investment activities and corporate capital change activities
• Accounting systems input functions for various systems, including the investment detail accounting system and the State’s general ledger accounting system

Qualifications

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
• Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience

Requirements

• Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements
• Travel: This position requires independent out-of-state travel utilizing airplanes, trains, cars, taxicabs, buses, ships, etc. in the evenings and/or weekends, as needed, for work-related purposes, which may include domestic and international assignments, with overnight or extended accommodations, as necessary
• Remote Work: This position is eligible to work remotely (at home) up to five days per week, occasional onsite work will be required
• Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position prior to being appointed to the position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed
