Role Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager who can lead a growing technical services organization while building scalable systems, developing leaders, and ensuring operational excellence across our portfolio. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Technical Services Department. This leader will establish and implement maintenance strategies, develop systems and processes that drive efficiency, manage departmental financial performance, and build a high-performing team capable of supporting company growth.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, business acumen, operational discipline, and the ability to create sustainable processes that enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve the club member experience.

• Lead the maintenance strategy and operational performance of fitness equipment, spa equipment, and facility-related systems across all locations.
• Establish department goals, performance standards, and operating plans that support company objectives and enhance the member experience.
• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance leaders and teams through performance management, succession planning, and career development initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standardized operating procedures, workflows, and systems that improve efficiency, consistency, and visibility across the organization.
• Drive the adoption of technology solutions that enhance scheduling, reporting, communication, asset management, and work order execution.
• Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, financial analysis, cost control, and capital planning.
• Monitor maintenance expenses, vendor performance, inventory management, and equipment lifecycle programs to optimize operational and financial results.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment uptime, preventative maintenance compliance, technician productivity, work order completion, and service quality.
• Analyze maintenance and repair data to identify trends, improve system reliability, and drive operational excellence.
• Manage relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and service providers, including contract administration, performance management, and procurement activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement processes that reduce operational risk, improve workplace safety, and support accurate maintenance documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of maintenance, facilities, technical services, or operational leadership experience, including multi-site maintenance operations.
• 3+ years of experience leading leaders and managing geographically dispersed teams.
• Proven success developing SOPs, scalable processes, and operational systems.
• Experience managing departmental budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Strong leadership, team development, and succession planning capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and drive accountability through performance metrics.
• Strong financial acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to leverage data, KPIs, and reporting tools to drive operational decisions and continuous improvement.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with CMMS, work order management systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting platforms.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day execution.
