Role Description

The Virtual Team RVT plays a unique role in aiding the veterinarians and in-clinic care team in achieving greater efficiency in overall patient care.

Role Overview:

Virtual Team RVTs will apply their previously developed professional technical skills in:

• Anesthesia
• Surgery
• Dentistry
• Laboratory testing
• Patient nursing care
• Client education

They advise clients on various subjects from minor questions and concerns to post-operative issues, and any other questions that may arise. The Virtual Team RVT is responsible for:

• Effectively triaging pets
• Determining whether they require emergency care with a larger referral hospital
• Same-day or next-day urgent care appointment with Juno Veterinary
• Implementing at-home care with their recommendations
• Submitting requests for prescription refills

The team works closely with the in-clinic team to ensure high quality and continuous care. RVTs need to communicate clearly with:

• The veterinarians
• Other practice personnel
• Clients

The RVT must be a detail-oriented person who can:

• Make good decisions
• Respond quickly and calmly to crises
• Maintain high standards of patient care

This often requires significant multi-tasking and creative thinking ability. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to:

• Set a good example
• Promote a positive work environment
• Provide direction and motivation to coworkers

Please note this position is for Evenings, working 2pm - 12am EST/11am - 9pm PST shift on a rotation (4-on, 4-off) basis. We are seeking candidates based in Ontario or British Columbia.

Qualifications

• A valid Veterinary Technician License (RVT, LVT) in Ontario and/or British Columbia
• 2+ years as an RVT with triage experience
• A strong interest in emerging technology, AI and enjoyment in learning new operating systems/platforms
• Exceptional communication skills
• Proficiency in multi-tasking across many communication platforms
• The ability to communicate well with cross functional teams and members

• Continued use of a computer throughout your shift

Compensation for this Position

This role has an hourly compensation range of $27 to $29 per hour. This range reflects the variations in experience and skillset an individual could possess within this role, as well as the growth and experience that would be needed to meet the top end of the range.

It's also possible to join Juno at a wage above this range, which would mean you are at the very top end of experience and knowledge or perhaps you are someone who is currently working with Juno and has had the opportunity to make a significant and positive impact on our patients and our community.
