Role Description
The Virtual Medical Doctor Evaluator is responsible for conducting comprehensive medical and behavioral health evaluations through secure telehealth platforms for individuals with psychiatric, developmental, neurological, cognitive, and/or medical impairments. Evaluations are completed in accordance with agency standards, state requirements, and structured medical evaluation guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct virtual medical evaluations using established Medical Evaluation Guidelines.

Current treatment providers and supports

Complete comprehensive virtual clinical assessments including:

General appearance and behavioral observations

Neurological screening

Mental status observations

Functional limitations

Gross motor and coordination observations
-
Assessment of competency and decision-making capacity
-
Review available laboratory results, records, imaging, and collateral documentation.

Prepare detailed narrative evaluation reports with clinical impressions and prognosis.

Assess level of disability, psychiatric impairment, and functional limitations.
-
Provide recommendations for treatment, support services, care coordination, or additional evaluation when appropriate.
-
Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with agency, Medicaid, and state regulations.
-
Collaborate with behavioral health teams, social service agencies, ACTT teams, care coordinators, and community providers as needed.

Maintain HIPAA compliance and telehealth documentation standards.

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Active unrestricted medical license in applicable state(s)

Experience in psychiatry, family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, physical medicine, disability evaluations, or behavioral health preferred

Telehealth experience preferred
-
DEA registration preferred but not required depending on role responsibilities

Experience with Medicaid populations and community mental health systems

Work Environment
This is a fully virtual position utilizing secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth systems. Providers may work remotely while collaborating with interdisciplinary behavioral health and social service teams.
