Role Description
This job is for a remote Virtual Clinical Assistant with Prism Vision Group. This remote position is ideal for someone with medical scribing experience who can accurately document patient encounters in real time, assist with clinical workflows, and help improve provider efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality.

Provide real-time medical scribing during patient encounters, accurately capturing the history of present illness (HPI), review of systems, ophthalmic examination findings, assessments, diagnoses, medical decision-making, and treatment plans.

Accurately document ophthalmic diagnostic testing, imaging findings, injections, laser procedures, surgical planning, and other specialty-specific clinical information within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records while ensuring documentation meets quality standards, supports clinical decision-making, and promotes continuity of care.

Prepare detailed visit summaries and ensure charts are finalized promptly, supporting efficient provider workflows and high-quality patient outcomes.

Communicate clearly and professionally with physicians and healthcare team members through secure messaging platforms to support coordinated clinical workflows.

Uphold the highest standards of HIPAA compliance by safeguarding protected health information (PHI).

Perform additional administrative or clinical support tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience in General Ophthalmology and/or Retina is required (minimum of 3 years).

Previous experience supporting ophthalmologists or retina specialists through medical scribing, virtual clinical assistance, or ophthalmic patient care.

Strong familiarity with ophthalmic terminology, ocular and retinal diagnoses, medications, diagnostic imaging, procedures, and specialty-specific clinical workflows.

Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR).

Exceptional English communication skills with outstanding grammar, spelling, and typing accuracy (60+ WPM preferred).

Strong active listening abilities with the capacity to quickly understand provider-patient conversations.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
