Role Description
The Vice President of Pharmacy is responsible for coordinating the provision of pharmaceutical care across all provider facilities, both inpatient and outpatient.

Establishes the scope of services for pharmacy operations across the organization.

Evaluates operations on an ongoing basis, utilizing principles of continuous improvement.

Maintains the highest quality and an appropriate scope to meet local and regional patient care needs.

Acts as a key contributor in providing high quality, cost-effective pharmaceutical care across all Carle sites.

Develops a strategic plan for pharmacy operations across the system.

Is aligned to meet the organization's strategic objectives.

Develops and maintains practice standards for all professional staff.

Supports individual professional growth.

Ensures staff maintains necessary competencies to perform required duties.

Collaborates with nursing leadership.

Ensures engagement of nurses within the Pharmacy Division with Magnet and other professional nursing practice tenets.

Develops and oversees pharmacy purchasing strategy to maintain pharmacy supply chain across all Carle entities.

Provides oversight for pharmacy contracting.

Provides budgetary leadership and oversight for aggregated budgets for all pharmacy locations.

Ensures pharmacy service line accreditation readiness with medication management and pharmacy practice standards for DNV, ACHC, URAC, and other accrediting bodies as appropriate.

Coordinates and oversees pharmacy automation across all Carle locations.

Coordinates 340B operations system-wide, including split-billing software, contracting, contracted pharmacy oversight, HRSA/OPA compliance management, internal and external auditing, and registration management.
Qualifications

Licensed Pharmacist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Bachelor's Degree: Pharmacy

Master's Degree: Healthcare

Master's Degree: Business Administration

Doctorate: Pharmacy

Pharmacy Administrative - 5 years
-
Working knowledge of State and Federal Pharmacy Regulations.

Familiarity with the Federal 340B Program.

Creation and administration of pharmacy budgets.
Compensation Range
$250,000 to $350,000
