Role Description
The Vaccine and IMMTRAC Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, executing and coordinating activities that promote, educate and train staff and providers who provide vaccines and participate in the Texas Vaccines for Children and Adult Safety Net (TVFC/ASN) program within CommUnityCare. The Vaccine and IMMTRAC Specialist will monitor and track compliance as required by the TVFC/ASN program. The Vaccine and IMMTRAC Specialist supports the Vaccine and IMMTRAC Manager with vaccine program organizational goals.
Responsibilities

Acts as the ImmTrac administrator, monitoring, updating and maintaining IMMTRAC logins for new and transferring team members.

Assist in managing the immunization program at CommUnityCare, promoting vaccine, vaccine safety, vaccine preventable diseases and vaccine storage and handling per CDC guidelines.

Implements and provides oversight of clinical care promoting a healthcare workforce that is knowledgeable about vaccines.

Responsible for assisting in annual reenrollment of participating health centers in the TVFC and IMMTRAC program provider agreement.

Attends audits and follows up with findings of all audits and compliance with recommendations, attends audits as needed.

Assist in developing guidelines to assist health centers increase vaccination rates on children who are not up to date on their immunizations.

Ensures the collection, maintenance, use and dissemination of vaccine and TVFC/ASN related data and information.

Maximize the use of information technology to collect, store and retrieve data and perform quality assurance on private vaccine and TVDC/ASN related data and information.

Provides routine reports to operations and medical leadership on vaccine and TVDC/ASN related data and information.

Develop and update as needed Vaccine Management Plan annually for CDC and TVFC/ASN storage and handling guidelines.

Provides guidance and monitors compliance to CDC/TVF/ASN guidelines for cold chain storage and handling.

Conducts announce and unannounced storage and handling site visits.

Oversees shipment of overstocked TVFC/ASN vaccines and vaccines approaching expiration in accordance to TVFC/ASN guidelines and approval process.

Assist health centers with education on managing cold alarms and reporting out of range temperatures as indicated.

Assist in Immunization SDOβs and ensure that they are accurate and current.

Develops strong communication methods to cascade information.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Completion of Medical Assistant Program & Externship or Licensed Vocation Nursing Program.

Licensed Vocational Nurse (preferred).
Requirements
-
2 yearsβ experience in a clinic setting and 1 year of vaccine coordinator experience (minimum).

3 yearsβ experience in a clinic setting with 2 years of vaccine coordinator experience (preferred).

Medical Assistant Certification.
-
Current, relevant state licensure to practice nursing in the State of Texas (LVN).
