[Hiring] Trauma Registrar @Banner Health

Role Description

In this role you will collect, analyze, and abstract data from patient records to help maintain a trauma registry for Banner Health trauma centers, primarily in Wyoming and Colorado.

The position participates in activities associated with the trauma registry, including:

• Data gathering
• Data abstraction
• Timely and accurate data entry/coding
• Data validation and reporting that meets trauma center requirements

Acts as a member of the multi-disciplinary trauma team to support patient quality and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• RHIT Certification or similar experience in ICD 10 coding, abstracting, and data management (normally acquired over two or more years)
• Two years of Trauma Registrar experience preferred
• ATS registry course and AIS 15 course preferred
• Image Trend software experience preferred
• RHIT, RHIA, and CPC preferred

Requirements

• Education equivalent to that of a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or certified coder
• Must have or will have required coursework, including the ATS trauma registrar course and AIS training course, within one year of hire
• Experience in coding, abstracting, and data management (normally acquired over two or more years)
• Ability to interpret and comprehend information contained within the patient’s medical record
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional data entry and data management skill sets with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work effectively with common office computer software, Trauma Registry software, electronic medical records system, and databases
