Role Description
The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor oversees day-to-day HIM operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant handling of health records and information workflows. Responsibilities include:

Coordinating team efforts and supporting quality and productivity standards across assigned functions.

Coordinating daily HIM activities including record processing, release of information, and documentation integrity.

Monitoring team performance and providing guidance to ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.

Supporting staff development by delivering training, answering operational questions, and reinforcing best practices.

Reviewing and resolving escalated issues related to documentation, access, or compliance.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address and improve turnaround times.

Auditing records for completeness and accuracy.

Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations in all HIM processes.
Qualifications
Requirements

1 to 3 years of job experience/people leadership experience.

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in Health Records Management / Medical Coding.

Excellent speaking and presentation skills required.

Working knowledge of electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.

Proficiency in keyboarding skills.

Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.

Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Preferred experience with EPIC and One Content, electronic medical record, training experience.
