Role Description

The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

• Achievement of positive patient care outcomes.
• Maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care.
• Reducing the length of hospitalization.
• Staff engagement, patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program required.
• Current Ohio license or interim permit.
• 2 years experience in relevant care setting preferred.
• Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) - preferred.
• Experience in telephone assessment and management – preferred.

Requirements

• Maintains current Ohio RN license.
• Meets mandatory educational and health requirements.
• Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.
• Qualified candidates preferably have 5 or more years of oncology or triage experience.
• Hours vary, but include weekend and holiday shifts.
• Candidates should be located within 1.5 hours of our facility as nurses may need to come onsite to finish a shift if service is lost.
