Role Description
As a Bilingual (Spanish) Patient Engagement Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their medication journey. You’ll act as a trusted liaison between patients, pharmacists, clinicians, payors, and health system partners—ensuring timely refills, resolving pharmacy claims issues, and delivering compassionate, high-quality service in both English and Spanish.
This is a fully remote pharmacy role ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented, empathetic, technologically savvy, and motivated by meaningful patient impact.

Help remove access barriers for patients across diverse populations
Core Responsibilities

Handle inbound pharmacy calls and conduct proactive outbound refill and engagement calls in English and Spanish

Educate and guide patients through the end-to-end medication refill process

Coordinate prescription refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication
-
Perform prescription status checks and resolve adjudication or coverage issues

Serve as a liaison between patients, pharmacists, clinicians, payors, and internal support teams
-
Communicate with pharmacists and clinicians to clarify prescriptions and resolve discrepancies
-
Identify medications requiring special handling (e.g., refrigerated or hazardous) and ensure proper protocols

Accurately document and maintain patient, prescription, and communication records across multiple systems
-
Identify repeat issues and trends, escalating opportunities for workflow or process improvement
-
Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and healthcare privacy standards

Participate in ongoing training, quality assurance activities, and professional development
-
Maintain schedule flexibility to support health system partner needs

8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday between 7:00am–7:00pm EST

Occasional weekends as needed
Qualifications

National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required

Active State Pharmacy Technician registration (obtainable with national certification)

Willingness to obtain additional required licensure within an agreed timeframe

High school diploma or GED required

1–3 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred

Fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required

Experience supporting diverse or underserved patient populations preferred
