Role Description
The Service Line Administrator is responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational management of the Medical Specialty and Cardiovascular Service Lines within the UAMS Division of Integrated Clinical Enterprise (ICE). This role involves:

Comprehensive programmatic development

Recruitment and retention of clinical providers

Close collaboration with the Physician Service Line Director & Service Line Nursing Leader in a triad, matrixed leadership model

Ensuring alignment with ICE and UAMS overarching goals

Working closely with clinical, academic, and administrative stakeholders to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and achieve performance and financial targets
Qualifications
-
Bachelorβs degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, clinical, or a related field
-
8 years of progressive healthcare administration experience required (both inpatient and outpatient preferred)

Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with multiple layers of staff and leadership

Extensive knowledge of academic healthcare trends and financial management practices
-
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, capable of integrating complex information for budgeting and strategic planning

Accountable for meeting quality, financial, and operational benchmarks set by ICE and UAMS

Ensure all operations are in compliance with relevant regulatory and accrediting bodies

Collaborate with ICE leadership, other Service Lines, and campus operations to establish and maintain high standards of care and operational excellence

Key Responsibilities
-
Work in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment with the Physician Service Line Director to create and execute unified strategic objectives and operational plans
-
Foster a team-based culture, ensuring open communication and joint decision-making between administrative and clinical leadership

Serve as the chief financial officer for the assigned Service Lines, providing comprehensive budgetary and operational support
-
Develop and implement annual budgets, including expense budgeting and revenue projections from clinical, appropriated, discretionary, endowment, gift, and grant sources
-
Conduct internal audits, financial reviews, and special financial analyses
-
Disseminate and interpret clinical, financial, and operational data to Service Line providers
-
Monitor fiscal performance across cost centers, satellite offices, diagnostic services, and ancillary services
-
Oversee financial transactions, including payroll, purchasing, travel, invoices, and contracting
-
Lead data-driven improvement projects that enhance operational effectiveness
-
Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain high-caliber clinical providers
-
Partner with academic and clinical leaders to expand service line programs
-
Cultivate an environment of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development for faculty and staff

Establish and measure targets for patient quality, satisfaction, clinical metrics, employee satisfaction, and workforce indicators
