Role Description
The Senior MSL is an integral member of the medical affairs team. In this field-based role, the MSL will contribute to Takeda's mission by supporting the development and life-cycle management of Takeda Oncology medicines. The key objective of the MSL role is to engage scientifically with key opinion leaders in their assigned geography via accurate, scientific, and non-promotional information exchange.
This territory will be responsible for covering NC and SC, excluding Wake Forest, NC. The preferred location for the successful candidate to reside would be the Raleigh or Charlotte metro area.

Maintain established relationships with HCPs across the assigned geography and continuously add new thought leaders.

Apply advanced field-based medical experience, subject matter knowledge, and skills in supporting medical strategies for Takeda Oncology products.

Address unsolicited requests for medical information from healthcare professionals, managed care organizations, payers, and other formulary decision makers.

Participate in and contribute to projects and initiatives within a matrix environment that increase the value and productivity of Medical Affairs (MA).

Provide and present relevant field observations and insights to internal stakeholders as needed.

Actively participate in executing USMAO strategy at medical conferences by serving as congress lead.

Develop and adapt regional territory plan that aligns to and supports defined Medical Affairs scientific imperatives.

Expand and leverage thought leader relationships by aligning thought leader expertise with Takeda needs.

Actively participate in and contribute to Medical Affairs and cross-functional projects/initiatives.

Provide operational and scientific training within Field Medical Affairs as needed.

Collaborate with internal partners to provide field input and scientific expertise.

Regularly collect and interpret medical insights and intelligence from scientific exchange with thought leaders and payers.

Assume responsibility for supporting clinical trial enrollment if acting as molecule lead.

Mentor and coach others within Field Medical Affairs as assigned.

Experience supporting products distributed through a specialty pharmacy and coordinating with patient access services.
Qualifications

Advanced scientific or healthcare degree required; doctoral degree preferred (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, RN, NP, DNP/APRN).

Experience in Oncology is preferred.

Minimum of 3 years field medical experience preferred; oncology experience preferred; pharmaceutical industry experience required.
Requirements

Thorough understanding of the FDA, OIG, HIPAA, PhRMA Code, and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.

Superior communication skills, both oral and written.

Well-versed in technical and scientific practices to communicate with various external stakeholders.

Firm understanding of processes, techniques, and analyses involved in both pre-clinical and clinical aspects of drug development.

Proven track record of teamwork, leadership, timely decision making, and results orientation.

U.S. Base Salary Range: $169,400.00 - $266,200.00.
