Role Description
The Senior Manager, Field Medical, non‑MD is a field‑based medical colleague within Field Medical Affairs responsible for providing therapeutic area and product expertise across assigned geographies (VA/NC/SC). The role supports Pfizer’s in‑line and late‑stage portfolio through scientific exchange, medical engagement, customer insights, and research support, spanning a broad range of healthcare professional (HCP) and organized customer segments.
The Senior Manager, Field Medical, non‑MD contributes to the development and execution of medical strategy by delivering accurate, balanced, and scientifically rigorous medical information; supporting research and data dissemination; and serving as a trusted medical resource to internal and external stakeholders in alignment with Pfizer policies, guidance, and medical objectives.
In this role, the Senior Manager, Field Medical, non‑MD contributes to the identification, interpretation, and discussion of meaningful gaps between evidence‑based standards of care and real‑world clinical practice, supporting medical strategy through patient‑focused, data‑informed scientific exchange.
Qualifications

Advanced scientific degree required (e.g., PharmD, PhD, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or equivalent terminal degree)

Minimum of 1+ years of relevant experience in clinical practice, clinical research, health services research, or pharmaceutical/biotechnology medical affairs

Experience engaging healthcare professionals in independent scientific exchange and medical decision‑making required

Experience in the designated therapeutic area is highly desirable

Demonstrated clinical and technical expertise applicable to scientific exchange and medical engagement

Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote, field‑based environment while exercising sound judgment and accountability

Requirements

Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement with appropriately identified customers within an assigned territory

Maintain a high level of scientific and therapeutic area knowledge, including disease states, standards of care, emerging data, and Pfizer medicines

Deliver truthful, balanced, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs

Serve as a conduit for medical information and customer insights

Identify and explore areas where real‑world clinical practice may diverge from established evidence

Maintain effective communication and collaboration with headquarters Medical Affairs colleagues

Demonstrate strong communication skills across multiple channels

Optimize patient centricity in medical communications and engagements

Support patient‑focused discussions that highlight unmet needs and barriers to optimal outcomes

Deliver approved medical content related to Pfizer medicines to HCPs

Identify, prioritize, and engage appropriate customer segments within the assigned therapeutic area

Field and manage inbound medical inquiries through established Pfizer triage processes

Partner with Global Medical Affairs, Worldwide Research & Development, and Global Product Development

Provide medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) lifecycle

Cultivate research and therapeutic area expertise by reviewing scientific literature

Understand and communicate principles of clinical study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation

Reactively and proactively engage with local patient advocacy organizations

Deliver insights regarding local patient organization structures and unmet patient needs

Serve on therapeutic area, asset, and cross‑functional committees or initiatives

Partner with internal Medical Affairs colleagues, analytics teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders

Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs with professionalism in interactions with clinical, scientific, and professional associations

Maintain timely completion of all internal training requirements and compliance expectations

Utilize digital tools and platforms to engage customers and document medical interactions
