Role Description

The Senior Consultative Pharmacist consults with patients, pharmacies, and providers to provide patient care in the form of optimal medication therapy. The work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

• Educates members about the proper use and purpose of their medications.
• Responds to members’ questions via telephone and web chat regarding their prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and general health as it relates to pharmacotherapy.
• Encourages safe, accurate, and timely usage of medications while resolving medication-related issues, such as prior authorization requirements, formulary alternatives, and medication access concerns.
• Accurately records member interactions and recommendations to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Must have an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state.
• Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs
• Ability to solve problems and encourage others in collaborative problem solving
• Work ethic that is focused, accurate, and highly productive
• Proficient with computers
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Requirements

• PharmD (preferred)
• 3 plus years' experience in a high volume community pharmacy practice environment (preferred)
• Bilingual Spanish (preferred)

• Work at Home Requirements: Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
• Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
• Pay Range: $115,200 - $158,400 per year
• This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
