[Hiring] Senior Clinical Research Data Specialist @University of Rochester

Role Description

Works in partnership with the primary point of contact to provide high quality, accurate data management support for complex studies. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in conducting quality checks of data accuracy with data source records.
• Performing data entry and verification tasks.
• Providing custom programming, statistical analysis, reporting, and presentation graphics.
• Preparing and transferring data for analysis.
• Supporting the implementation of custom, research project-specific data workflow solutions.
• Consulting with user departments and sites to assess data preparation and management needs.
• Partnering with the primary point of contact to provide data status reports.
• Answering a broad range of data clarifications for each study.
• Scheduling and meeting with study monitors.
• Assisting in audit preparation.
• Developing source data worksheets specific to each assigned study.
• Ensuring clinical issues from monitoring reports are addressed.
• Preparing data status update reports for PI Oversight meetings.
• Extracting and preparing drug safety profile information for annual reports.
• Observing for deviations and acting to minimize them.
• Maintaining requisite skills and mandatory training in safety, equality, and research competencies.
• Acting as a mentor to lower level staff.
• Keeping current with all federal, state, sponsor, and institutional policies and laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2 years of relevant experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to understand and follow standard research protocols and procedures.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Possesses a working knowledge of key processes that encompass clinical trials.

• Understands and follows data integrity standards and processes.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, internet.

Benefits

• Compensation Range: $24.91 - $34.87.
• Part-time position with scheduled weekly hours of 20.
