Role Description

This is a remote position. This is a confidential search being managed by The HR Pro on behalf of our client.

As a Registered Psychotherapist, you will deliver virtual therapy services to individuals including children (from age 7 and teens), couples, and/or families, depending on your area of expertise. This role offers a high degree of flexibility, allowing you to set your availability while working within a structured environment designed to support consistency and growth.

• Guide prospective clients through initial consultations and establish ongoing therapeutic relationships.
• Build trust, create connections, and support clients in continuing their care.
• Shifts are typically 5–6 hours in length, with most therapists working a combination of afternoon, evening, and weekend hours based on client demand.
• A typical schedule includes a minimum of three shifts per week, with the opportunity to grow into a fuller caseload over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality virtual therapy sessions while building and maintaining a consistent caseload.
• Conduct initial consultations and support clients in transitioning into ongoing therapy.
• Foster strong therapeutic relationships that encourage retention and progress.
• Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner, with dedicated time built directly into your session schedule.
• Align with clinic processes and contribute to a cohesive client experience.

• Compensation structured around clinical hours, with therapists historically earning approximately $65-75 per hour as an employee.

• Role begins with approximately 10-20 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow to 30-35 hours as your caseload develops.
• No minimum guarantee during ramp-up, but consistent consultation opportunities and administrative support are provided.
• All scheduling, billing, and client intake are handled by the administrative team.
• Support from structured clinical frameworks, templates, and a modern practice management system (Jane), along with AI-supported documentation tools.
• Employee position with flexibility to maintain external work, provided there are no scheduling conflicts.

Requirements

• Registered Psychotherapist (not in qualifying period) in Ontario for 3-5 years.
• Strong clinical capability and ability to connect with clients from the very first interaction.
• Comfortable working in a virtual environment and confident in guiding initial consultations into ongoing therapeutic relationships.
• Ability to build trust quickly, create a sense of safety, and help clients feel confident in continuing their care.
• Understanding of the importance of consistency in building a caseload and motivation to develop meaningful, lasting connections with clients over time.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to complete documentation within designated timeframes.
• Flexibility to work evenings and at least one weekend day in alignment with client needs.
• Experience conducting consultations or intake sessions is considered an asset.
• Ability to work with a diverse client population.
