Role Description

The Registered Pharmacy Technician, Rx To Go is responsible for performing routine and non-routine pharmacy technician functions and activities related to the position.

• Must be able to multi-task between multiple software programs and/or applications.
• Handle multiple telecommunication lines.
• Work efficiently in all Microsoft programs.
• Exercise excellent communication skills to successfully interact with all levels of internal and external parties.
• Document all information accurately and professionally.
• Effectively use, pronounce, and spell common medical and pharmacy terms.
• Maintain open lines of communication with immediate supervisor and/or manager.
• Always work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• No patient counseling will be completed by the Registered Pharmacy Technician.

Intake Team:

• Responsible for pharmacy insurance data entry and verification of insurance benefits.
• Provide exceptional service to patients, staff, insurance representatives, pharmaceutical representatives, vendors, and fellow employees.
• Interact in a professional manner with all contacts to promote effective exchanges of information.
• Be the first line of communication for inbound/outbound telephonic calls, e-mails, and internal computer program communications for the pharmacy department.
• Coordinate with appropriate teams in the pharmacy to expedite all pharmacy services.

Adherence Team:

• Document and encourage therapy adherence under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
• Maintain accurate medication information (missed doses, medication reconciliation, patient-reported side effects, and dose changes).
• Investigate prescription barriers and report order updates to the clinic.
• Schedule orders for delivery/pickup in a timely manner.

Revenue Team:

• Ensure that prescriptions are processed for eligible patients and properly billed to their benefit plan.
• Work with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and communicate any potential delays to the appropriate pharmacy staff members.
• Provide support to the Revenue Manager for the day-to-day financial operations of the pharmacy.
• Be an active member of the audit team.

Dispensing & Distribution Team:

• Dispense oral oncology medications under the supervision of the Dispensing Operations Pharmacist.
• Accurately count and fill, order and stock, package and ship oral oncology medications.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education is required.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in specialty, retail, mail order, or hospital pharmacy is required.

• Active Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of residence is required.
• Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) is preferred.
