Role Description
The Regional Manager, Eastern/Central Region β CHC Outpatient Pharmacies is responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational oversight of multiple Community Health Center based outpatient pharmacies across several states. This leader ensures consistent, compliant, and high performing pharmacy operations in alignment with CHC clinical models, HRSA requirements, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
This role provides direct leadership to Pharmacy Managers, site leaders, and regional support staff while serving as a key liaison to CHC executive leadership, compliance teams, and external stakeholders. Traits of a successful candidate include strong pharmacy operational and leadership experience and the ability to lead geographically dispersed teams with significant travel (up to 50%) across the Eastern and Central regions. 340B expertise strongly preferred.
CHC Outpatient Pharmacy Operations support federally qualified health centers and community based clinics by:

Expanding patient access to affordable medications through compliant use of the 340B Drug Pricing Program

Integrating pharmacy services into primary care, HIV/Ryan White, behavioral health, and specialty clinic workflows

Supporting value based care, adherence initiatives, and population health goals

Ensuring operational, regulatory, and financial sustainability of safety net pharmacy programs
Responsibilities

Provide direct oversight of multiple retail outpatient pharmacies across the Eastern and Central regions, spanning multiple states

Lead, coach, and develop Pharmacy Managers and regional support staff to drive consistent operational performance

Standardize workflows, staffing models, KPIs, and operational controls across the region

Ensure pharmacy services align with CHC clinical operations, patient access goals, and grant driven requirements

Maintain expert level knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, including HRSA guidance and audit expectations

Ensure compliant 340B operations across all sites, including eligibility, accumulation, dispensing, and reporting

Partner with compliance, legal, and auditing teams to support audit readiness and risk mitigation

Optimize 340B savings utilization in alignment with CHC mission and financial objectives

Own regional P&L performance, including revenue growth, margin optimization, and expense control

Analyze financial and operational data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities

Build and execute action plans to improve script volume, labor efficiency, adherence programs, and patient experience

Support budgeting, forecasting, and business case development for pharmacy expansion or service changes

Serve as a primary operational liaison to CHC executive leadership, clinical leaders, and administrative teams

Communicate effectively with internal senior leadership regarding risks, trends, and strategic opportunities

Support new CHC pharmacy openings, acquisitions, and integrations as required

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations across jurisdictions

Support accreditation readiness and ongoing compliance

Promote a culture of patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Travel Requirements

Up to 50% travel, including routine on site pharmacy visits, leadership meetings, and operational reviews. Position is work from home so locations not a primary consideration.

Qualifications

6-10 years of progressive pharmacy operations leadership experience with regional or multi site oversight

Demonstrated expertise in retail pharmacy operations

Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L performance

Ability to lead effectively in a highly regulated, mission driven healthcare environment

Hands on knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, including compliance and audit readiness, preferred

Proven experience managing teams across multiple pharmacies and multiple states, preferred
-
Bachelorβs degree in Pharmacy or PharmD., Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered, preferred

Experience supporting FQHCs, Ryan White clinics, or safety net health systems, preferred

Familiarity with outpatient pharmacy expansion, integration, or accreditation initiatives, preferred

Retail Pharmacy operational knowledge (Growth, Expansion, and Management, Compliance, etc.), preferred
