Responsibilities:

• Ability to work remotely in assigned location / region
• Ability to travel via personal vehicle or AWARE vehicle to designated cities / regions to meet with clients and provide services
• Experience in assessment and observational skills
• Experience planning and implementing TR interventions to assist clients in increasing independence in lifestyle
• Experience researching and applying evidence-based practices in Therapeutic Recreation
• Design TR protocols, session plans and processes
• Implements interventions that are sensitive to the client age, cultural background, stage of development, limitations of disabling conditions, skill and experience level
• Document and evaluate services for efficiency and quality

AWARE recreation therapists earn $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation which meets the standards of NCTRC
• Completion of a NCTRC approved internship
• CTRS certification at hire strongly preferred or the ability to obtain national certification of CTRS within one year of hire
