3d ago - Qventus is hiring a remote Principal Clinical Strategist. πŸ’Έ Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 usd πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

We're looking for an experienced Director of Clinical Delivery to join our Delivery team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in preop medicine, perioperative leadership, and clinical workflow transformation to own the clinical voice of the projectβ€”shaping product direction, earning health-system trust, and turning frontline nursing skepticism into adoption with excellent change management, effective workflow design, and building appropriate AI/technology operationalization into clinical workflows. You'll work cross-functionally with our Enterprise Clinical Strategy team to influence our product, engineering, implementation, customer success, and sales, while partnering with our surgeon and anesthesiologist medical directors to shape solutions that deliver measurable value to PAT teams, anesthesia departments, and the patients they serve. This is a high-impact role that will influence our product roadmap, clinical governance, and go-to-market strategy, strengthen customer outcomes, and shape our company's growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Strategy & Product Direction
    • Contribute to clinical decision-making on product priorities, escalation paths, risk-stratification logic, and clinical content (in close partnership with our anesthesiologist medical directors).
    • Partner with Medical Directors to translate evolving evidence, guidelines (ASA, AANA, AORN, ASPAN, Joint Commission), and regulatory expectations into product and workflow requirements.
    • Oversee the existing team members as they define and own the clinical outcomes framework β€” what we measure, how we measure it, and how we tell the story of impact (cancellation rates, screening completion, nurse productivity, optimization yield, day-of-surgery delays, patient experience).
  • Customer Clinical Relationships
    • Build and maintain executive-level clinical relationships at every customer that could include CMOs, CNOs, AVP/VP Perioperative Services, Anesthesia Department Chairs, PAT Medical Directors, PAT Nurse Managers.
    • Serve as the first line of defense for triaging clinical decisions and partnering with Enterprise Clinical Strategy surgeons and anesthesiologists during sales, implementation, and ongoing partnership phases.
    • Represent Qventus during system clinical AI governance activities and contribute to partnership governance including value reviews and outcome-sharing sessions with customer clinical leadership.
  • Team Leadership
    • Set the clinical workflow design standards that the implementation and customer success teams execute against; partner with their leaders to ensure clinical fidelity from kickoff through go-live and steady state.
    • Lead, develop, and grow the clinical organization, starting with our clinical strategists and expanding as we scale.
    • Partner with the medical director(s) to formalize perspectives on clinical and AI governance, safety review, and appropriateness frameworks.
  • Change Management & Nursing Adoption
    • Own the playbook for earning PAT and OR nursing trust and driving adoption, including pre-implementation engagement, super-user development, workflow co-design, and ongoing change management.
    • Coach client clinical leaders through the people-side of the change, drawing on your own experience leading nursing teams through workflow transformation.
    • Be visibly accountable to nursing teams for the safety, quality, and humanity of the product.
  • External Presence & Thought Leadership
    • Represent the company at major clinical conferences (e.g., ASA, AANA, AORN, ASPAN, AAACN, AONL).
    • Partner with Medical Directors and Chief Clinical Officer to publish, present, and speak on the future of pre-anesthesia optimization, AI in perioperative care, and nursing-led innovation.
    • Build and steward our KOL network and clinical advisory board in collaboration with the Enterprise Clinical Strategy team.
  • Commercial Partnership
    • Partner with medical directors and sales team as the senior clinical delivery voice in late-stage opportunities such as clinical demos, executive site visits, and clinical due diligence.

Qualifications

  • Recent or active RN with advanced practice and/or executive credentials, CRNA, or MD/DO in Anesthesiology.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical leadership experience, including senior executive roles such as VP/AVP Perioperative Services, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, Director/Medical Director of Pre-Anesthesia Testing, or equivalent in anesthesia department leadership.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with pre-anesthesia testing operations, workflow design, staffing models, risk stratification, optimization pathways, day-of-surgery cancellation reduction.
  • Experience at or working with a health-tech, digital health, or healthcare AI company in a clinical leadership, advisor, or chief clinical officer capacity.
  • A track record of leading nursing teams through significant clinical workflow change, ideally including technology-enabled change and earning adoption from frontline staff who started skeptical.
  • Executive presence and credibility with health-system C-suite clinical leaders (CMO, CNO, perioperative VP, anesthesia chair).
  • Strong cross-functional operating chops; you have managed people, owned outcomes, run governance, and partnered effectively with non-clinical leaders (product, engineering, sales, success).
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MSN, DNP, MBA, MHA, or MD) preferred.

Requirements

  • Experience at or working with a health-tech, digital health, or healthcare AI company in a clinical leadership, advisor, or chief clinical officer capacity.
  • Familiarity with informatics standards, EHR integration realities (Epic, Cerner/Oracle), and the practical mechanics of clinical workflow data.
  • Published or publicly visible thought leadership in perioperative care, pre-anesthesia optimization, surgical home models, or nursing innovation.
  • Experience contributing to product strategy or clinical content development for a software product.
  • Prior board, advisory board, or society leadership roles (ASA, AANA, AORN, ASPAN, AAACN, AONL, ASA Pre-Anesthesia Committee, etc.).

Benefits

  • Open Paid Time Off
  • Paid parental leave
  • Professional development
  • Wellness and technology stipends
  • A generous employee referral bonus
  • Employee stock option awards
