Role Description

The Physician Editor (Adult Pulmonary/Critical Care) position requires an 80 to 90% FTE commitment for editorial work, a broad understanding of clinical issues, and an interest in analyzing the literature. For the right person, this is a unique opportunity to impact the practice of medicine throughout the United States and around the world.

• Ensure that topics address important clinical questions that arise when diagnosing or managing a specific disorder
• Present information clearly and succinctly
• Provide evidence-based and actionable recommendations for care
• Receive extensive editorial training to learn critical skills for evaluating literature and creating content in the UpToDate style
• Work remotely with significant overlap with standard work hours in the Eastern time zone
• Continue patient care activities in the remaining 10 to 20% of time
• Craft clear content, review literature, and discuss the impact of new research on clinical practice with expert contributors

Qualifications

• Medical Degree
• Board Certification/Eligibility in Adult Pulmonary/Critical Care
• Clinical experience in an academic setting after residency (preferred)
• A valid medical license in at least one U.S. state (preferred)
• Impeccable communication skills: verbal, writing, and listening (preferred)
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at different skill levels (preferred)
• Self-motivated, with excellent organizational and time management skills (preferred)
• Ability to give and receive feedback effectively (preferred)
• Interest in critical analysis of the medical literature (skills can be learned on the job) (preferred)
• Ability to spend 80 to 90% of the work week on editorial work (preferred)
• Interest in and ability to maintain clinical work (10 to 20%) (preferred)

Compensation

$144,500.00 - $258,300.00 USD. This role is eligible for Bonus. Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, and actual hiring location.
