[Hiring] Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner @MaineHealth

Role Description

MaineHealth Virtual Same Day Care is recruiting for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) providing flexible per diem coverage on weekends. This practice includes:

• Coverage for urgent care, same day care, and primary care management in a virtual environment under the supervision of the Supervising Physician.
• Working in a remote capacity as part of the team covering indirect work within provider In Basket folders.
• Handling In Basket work from multiple providers at various MaineHealth ambulatory practices, including overflow work and coverage for time off and leaves.
• Conducting synchronous video visits on Virtual Same Day Care Service within established MaineHealth standards as appropriate.

Participates in continuous process improvement, including:

• Thoughtful engagement with process consideration for how to adjust and refine processes.
• Providing feedback to leadership as appropriate.
• Willingness to try new ways of accomplishing overall team goals.

This provider must live in Maine or New Hampshire and work 1-2 weekends per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program or BSN (MSN preferred) and successful completion of accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current Physician Assistant license issued by the states of Maine and New Hampshire (or eligible for licensure) and NCCPA certification or current Nursing License issued by the states of Maine and New Hampshire (or eligible for licensure).
• Current BLS.
• Minimum 3 years professional practice with primary care experience preferred.
• Demonstrated competency in providing comprehensive healthcare, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated proficient use of electronic medical record.
• Excellent verbal communication and proficient writing skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Demonstrated integration of theoretical knowledge base and clinical expertise in decision making.
