Role Description

The Optum Serve Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides clinically competent delivery of quality virtual medical care services required during Optum Serve operations. The PA or NP is responsible for providing clinically competent medical care services, within their scope of practice. The PA or NP working remotely on behalf of Optum Serve is responsible for safe patient care and ensuring adherence to all Optum Serve Policies and Procedures.

This position works in collaboration with other providers as well as other team members of the healthcare team to complete virtual health assessments in non-traditional healthcare settings. This provider is responsible for virtual patient triage, assessments, and referrals of all presenting patients to Optum Serve Telehealth.

Seeking to hire PAs or NPs who reside or hold licensure in the following states with ability to obtain multiple state licenses per regional assignment: KS, OR, AR, AK, IA, ME, KY, CT, NH, WV, DE, MT, ID, SD, NM, RI, ND, VT, WY, NE.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program
• Valid and unrestricted professional PA or NP license in the state which you reside
• Ability to apply for 10+ additional assigned state licensures within 2 weeks of hire date
• Collaborative physician agreement if applicable based on state scope of practice regulations
• 1+ years as a PA or NP in a clinical environment including oversight of ancillary and clinical staff and caring for adults
• Experience conducting assessments on a wide variety of acute/chronic conditions
• Proven experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) platforms to document, review, and manage patient information
• Proven excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work one or more of the listed schedule requirements including one weekend rotation per month

• Is punctual for work attendance and abides by work schedule
• Practices within mandated scope of licensure/certification
• Provide excellent patient care within the scope of PA or NP credentialed privileges
• Analyze and interpret histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information
• Maintain complete and detailed records of patients’ plans of care
• Conduct virtual medical assessments
• Ensure appropriate follow-ups for all referrals
• Manage new medical problems and appropriate follow-up on any ongoing medical problems
• Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership
• Apply proper patient identification practice and HIPAA compliance
• Provide virtual support in emergent situations to patients
• Remain up to date on all contract requirements
