Role Description

The Patient Sitter provides continuous, compassionate observation and companionship to patients requiring close monitoring to ensure their safety and well-being. This role plays a vital part in supporting the clinical team by:

• Helping prevent injury
• Promoting a therapeutic environment
• Responding promptly to patient needs
• Alerting nurses or clinical partners when patients require assistance or intervention
• Attending to basic patient requests
• Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with BHSF policies and standards

Qualifications

• Degrees: High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
• Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support
• Additional Qualifications:
  • CNA or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred
  • BLS required
  • Healthcare experience preferred, not required
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in patient behavior or condition
• Minimum Required Experience: 1 year

Requirements

• Compensation: Starts at $16/hour
