Role Description

Aetna Mental Well-being is reimagining how mental health is delivered with a unified, tech-enabled approach for our best-in-class Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Resources for Living. The EAP Clinical Counselor plays a vital role in Aetna Mental Wellbeing’s commitment to delivering timely, high-quality mental health care. This position transforms access to mental health support by providing members with an immediate, 24/7 connection via video, live chat, or phone. We are seeking candidates who share our passion for delivering industry-leading mental health services to people nationwide.

The EAP Clinical Counselor will act as a top-level specialist to provide counseling and informational services to members. Responsibilities include:

• Provision of telephone-based assessment, triage, consultation, counseling, and informational services in a call center environment.
• Providing risk, substance abuse, and mental health assessments to develop immediate action/safety plans.
• Understanding various levels of care to recommend appropriate care based on assessment.
• Collaborating with members to understand their needs and provide information regarding mental health and community resources.
• Collaborating with a team of professionals to support positive clinical outcomes and continuity of care.
• Using multitasking skills to document while assisting members on calls.
• Protecting the confidentiality of member information and adhering to EAP policies.
• Maintaining accurate documentation that meets risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining current independent behavioral health license in good standing.

Fully remote in the USA.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of crisis intervention experience.
• Valid unrestricted independent professional behavioral health clinical license to practice per state regulations.
• 24x7x365 call center coverage needed; holiday coverage is expected.
• Experience in facilitating patient/client positive behavior change.
• Experience in handling mental health, psychiatric care, family situations, and relationship concerns preferred.

Requirements

• Must have a separate workspace, free from distraction, in a room with a door that closes.
• Need to be hardwired and have reliable internet.
• Internet speed: Minimum of 400mbps download and 10-20mbps upload.
• Broadband or Fiber connection required.
• Ensure provider sets up a 4 port modem for work internet.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of EAP, Behavioral Health, or Social Services experience.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with brief therapy models and Motivational Interviewing.
• Call Center work experience.
• Ability to establish and maintain rapport quickly to develop a high level of customer trust.
• Strong computer and literacy skills.

Education

• Master’s Degree in behavioral health counseling profession.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $54,095.00 - $142,576.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
