Role Description
Outpatient Therapist - Adventures Program: Outpatient Counseling may include:

Individual, family, and group therapy for a variety of mental health issues such as marital or family issues, parent-child relationship problems, separation and loss, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

The MHP-Outpatient Therapist will work within our Adventures program with the possibility of working within our licensed outpatient clinic in Zelienople or other telehealth as needed.
Glade Run Adventures, our unique naturalistic setting, offers services that can be utilized within the scope of traditional outpatient offerings. The Adventures Program incorporates plants, animals (including horses), and the natural environment into therapeutic interventions to assist clients in reaching their treatment goals.
Qualifications

Has a graduate degree from a college or university that is accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in a generally recognized clinical discipline in which the degree program includes a clinical practicum; OR

Has an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES); OR
-
Is licensed in a generally recognized clinical discipline that includes mental health clinical experience.
Requirements

An interest in utilizing experiential therapy as a treatment modality. Experience utilizing this treatment modality is preferred (art therapy, play therapy, animal assisted therapy, equine assisted interventions, etc.).

An interest in experiential therapy specific to the resources available in the Adventures Program, including working with horses, small animals, plants, and the natural environment.

A demonstrated ability to provide safe and effective application of both individual and group therapy utilizing experiential therapy.

An ability to work independently or as a co-facilitator in groups.

An ability to be flexible in meeting the needs of clients, including recognizing and adjusting experiences to maintain client confidentiality and safety.

An ability to be flexible in scheduling sessions and supervision to meet the needs of clients and Adventures programming.

An interest in pursuing continuing education and/or certifications relevant to the Adventures Program services, such as certification in equine assisted therapy or horticultural therapy.

An ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
-
Must have physical dexterity to perform activities related to experiential interventions (e.g., horse handling, lifting, twisting, turning).
