Role Description
The outpatient coder is responsible for thorough review of clinical documentation and diagnostic results applicable to abstract data and appropriately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for billing and reimbursement, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance. This position commits to accurate medical coding for account types and/or service rendered to patients in the:
- Emergency department (ED)
- Same Day Surgeries (SDS)
- Ancillary (ANC)
- Oncology (ONC)
- Outpatient Rehab
- Outpatient Psychiatric
- Interventional Radiology (IVR)
