Role Description

Join a collaborative team of school-based OTs providing virtual support to districts throughout California as our new Remote Occupational Therapist. This remote role includes:

• IEP preparation
• Participation in IEP meetings
• COTA supervision and mentorship
• Coordination with fellow OTs to ensure consistent meeting coverage and exceptional student-centered services

We're seeking a highly organized communicator who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about supporting students, families, and educational teams.

Qualifications

• License / Certification from the state of California in Occupational Therapy
• Access to a mobile phone (for email) & basic internet (if working offsite)
• Hold appropriate automobile insurance with limits that allow driving a personal vehicle for work (at least 25/50k liability coverage)
• Must clear a current background check through the FBI and DOJ
• A current TB Test

Requirements

• Prepare, review, and finalize occupational therapy sections of IEPs, assessment reports, and related special education documentation in compliance with California and IDEA requirements.
• Attend and actively participate in virtual IEP meetings, collaborating with families, district staff, and multidisciplinary team members to support student-centered outcomes.
• Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to COTAs, ensuring services are implemented effectively and in accordance with applicable regulations and professional standards.
• Coordinate with a team of Occupational Therapists to ensure timely coverage of IEP meetings, assessments, and consultation needs across assigned districts.
• Maintain organized schedules, caseload documentation, and communication systems to support efficient service delivery and successful team collaboration.
• Consult with school personnel, caregivers, and service providers to develop practical strategies that support student participation, access, and progress within educational environments.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture by sharing expertise, supporting colleagues, and helping maintain high-quality occupational therapy services.
