Role Description

The Nurse Practitioner – Quality & Education Lead is a clinical leadership role that combines direct cardiovascular patient care with responsibility for advancing clinical quality, education, and clinician development. This individual will provide high-quality, evidence-based care in a virtual environment while leading initiatives that promote clinical excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement across the care team.

• Support clinician onboarding and ongoing education.
• Conduct peer and chart reviews.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Help develop and implement clinical quality programs and standards.
• Serve as a trusted clinical resource and mentor.
• Ensure exceptional, patient-centered cardiovascular care.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments via telehealth visits, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
• Diagnosis and Treatment: Formulate differential diagnoses and develop treatment plans for patients with various cardiac issues. Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests.
• Disease Management: Manage chronic cardiovascular conditions remotely, including hypertension, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease.
• Education and Counseling: Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular diseases, prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cardiologists, PCPs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Research and Evidence-Based Practice: Stay current with the latest developments in cardiology research and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients' needs and preferences.
• Continuing Education: Pursue ongoing education and professional development in the field of cardiology.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance programs to monitor and improve the quality of cardiology care.
• Lead and support clinical quality initiatives, including peer review and quality oversight of APPs and physicians.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve clinical quality programs and performance standards.
• Design and deliver onboarding, training, and ongoing education programs for clinicians.
• Conduct chart reviews, provide performance feedback, and promote adherence to evidence-based practices.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, fostering excellence in patient care and clinician development.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner/APRN license and active national board certification (e.g., AANP or ANCC).
• Strong clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, particularly with cardiovascular conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to independently assess patients and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
• Experience with clinical quality initiatives and performance improvement programs.
• Experience developing or delivering clinical education and training for clinicians.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a clinical resource and mentor.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based cardiovascular care.
• Comfortable delivering high-quality patient care through telehealth.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commitment to patient advocacy and shared decision-making.
• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and maintaining required licenses and certifications.
