Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing diagnostic procedures and related responsibilities in a hospital or outpatient setting; two (2) + years preferred.

Minimum of Associates Degree in related field; preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology Technology program required. With Certification/Licensure: 1) ARRT or 2) NMTCB.

Valid Driver’s License.

Experience with hybrid imaging modalities, such as PET/CT and SPECT/CT.

Knowledge of advanced radiology techniques, including Doppler and elastography.

Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and other imaging software.
Requirements

Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, including PET scans, SPECT scans, bone scans, thyroid scans, and cardiac imaging.

Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process clearly to ensure their comfort and understanding.

Monitor patients during and after procedures for any adverse reactions to radiopharmaceuticals or other medications.

Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure.

Operate and maintain imaging equipment such as gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT/CT systems.

Troubleshoot any equipment issues and report malfunctions to the appropriate department for repairs.

Accurately document patient details, procedures performed, and radiopharmaceuticals used.

Work closely with radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and other healthcare providers to assist in the interpretation of imaging results.

Provide technical expertise in identifying imaging anomalies and assisting with diagnostic procedures.

Monitor the quality of imaging results, making adjustments as necessary to ensure clarity and diagnostic utility.

Stay up-to-date with advancements in nuclear medicine techniques and technologies through continuing education and training.

Ensure all procedures are in compliance with relevant regulations, including radiation safety guidelines, hospital protocols, and industry standards.

Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Work Environment
Position requires providing own transportation to and from client locations to perform duties. Radiology duties performed at client locations.
Physical Requirements
The position occasionally requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting up to 20 lbs., pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout time tests are performed. Requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operation of equipment. Must be able to pass all necessary health requirements for hospital employment, including drug screening and background check.
