Role Description
The Remote Scanning Manager sits above the remote MRI steering technologist team and reports to the Director of Operations within Alpha RT, RadNet's remote MRI scanning division. This is an operations-focused role: the Remote Scanning Manager owns the day-to-day operational performance of the remote technologist workforce.

This role has negligible direct patient interaction and is centered on keeping remote scanning operations running smoothly, resolving issues in real time, and driving continuous improvement in image quality and workflow. Coaching and development of individual technologists is part of the role, but the primary mandate is operational.

Qualifications

Current ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification, with active state licensure where applicable.

Minimum 7-8 years of progressive experience as an MRI technologist required.

Prior experience in a scheduling, workforce operations, or process-improvement capacity strongly preferred.

Experience leading or coordinating a technologist team preferred.

Successful completion of an accredited radiology program or 2-year degree; bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and operations experience preferred.

Strong proficiency with scheduling/workforce management software (e.g., Lightning Bolt).

Comfortable operating in a fully remote, technology-driven scanning environment.

Strong operational and process-improvement mindset.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of state and federal health and safety regulations applicable to MRI operations.

General computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Must have BLS/CPR certification and maintain license and continuing education in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agencies' rules and regulations.

Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to interact effectively with radiologists, referring facilities, on-site staff, peers, and management.
Requirements

Own end-to-end scheduling and staffing operations for the remote technologist team across all Alpha RT command center hubs.

Drive measurable, process-level improvement in image quality across the remote scanning operation.

Serve as the primary operational escalation point and right hand to the Director of Operations.

Coach and develop remote technologists to support consistent operational performance.
-
Manage daily shift coverage, call-outs, and swap requests.
-
Actively monitor remote scanning operations in real time for coverage gaps, workflow bottlenecks, or breakdowns.

Partner with the Director of Operations to forecast staffing needs based on site volume, seasonality, and program growth.

Coordinate cross-hub and cross-shift coverage during PTO, call-outs, or volume surges.

Identify, triage, and escalate technical, equipment, or connectivity issues.

Collaborate with on-site assistants, referring facilities, and radiologists.

Build, maintain, and continuously improve SOPs governing remote scanning workflows.

Act on behalf of the Director of Operations when unavailable.

Lead or support operational projects and initiatives assigned by the Director of Operations.

Adhere to all OSHA regulations, RadNet practices, and generally accepted safety protocols.

Drive continuous, measurable improvement of image quality across the remote technologist team.

Review radiologist feedback and QA findings.

Establish and monitor image quality metrics.

Lead root-cause analysis for recurring quality or safety issues.

Develop and refine remote MRI protocols and technologist reference materials.

Report and document safety events, incidents, or exposures.

Set clear expectations and performance objectives for the remote technologist team.

Conduct coaching sessions with remote technologists.

Onboard and train new remote technologists.

Provide input and feedback on hiring decisions for remote technologist positions.

Recognize and provide coaching, counseling, and progressive discipline as appropriate.

Keep the remote technologist team informed of protocol updates and operational developments.

Maintain a minimum level of team member turnover through engagement, support, and career development.

Maintain current MRI technologist certification and hands-on scanning proficiency.

Apply deep understanding of MRI imaging parameters, protocols, and equipment.

Review exams for adherence to established MRI safety screening protocols.

Consult with radiologists as needed to determine appropriate scanning protocols.
