Role Description

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring an experienced Medical Transcriptionist to work full-time days (0600-1430) in the Anatomic Pathology Lab. This is a remote position for Virginia Only.

• Transcribe medical reports recorded by Physicians and other healthcare providers using various electronic devices.
• Cover office visits, emergency room visits, diagnostic imaging studies, operations, chart reviews, and final summaries.
• Transcribe dictated reports and translate abbreviations into fully understandable form.
• Edit and return reports in either printed or electronic form for review and signature, or correction.
• Store reports in the medical record either electronically or in paper form.

Qualifications

• HS – High School Grad or Equivalent (required)
• No specific certification or licensure requirements
• 1 year medical transcription experience (required)

Requirements

• Experience in laboratory services
• Familiarity with medical scribe duties
