Role Description

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a field-based scientific expert responsible for building trusted peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), researchers, and other healthcare stakeholders in Malaysia. The MSL provides high-quality scientific and clinical support related to BeOne Medicines’ solid tumor portfolio and pipeline. The role focuses on scientific exchange, medical education, insight gathering, evidence generation support, and cross-functional collaboration to advance patient care and support organizational objectives. The successful candidate is expected to maintain deep therapeutic area expertise in oncology, demonstrate strong scientific communication capabilities, and contribute strategically to medical affairs initiatives in Malaysia.

Main Responsibilities

  • Scientific Engagement and Partnership
    • Develop and maintain strong scientific relationships with oncologists, pathologists, researchers, and relevant healthcare stakeholders across Malaysia.
    • Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions on disease areas, clinical data, treatment landscapes, and BeOne Medicines products and pipeline.
    • Capture, synthesize, and communicate high-quality medical insights from external engagements to inform medical strategies, planning, and evidence needs.
    • Support medical projects, including early access programs, diagnostic pathway initiatives, and other patient-focused medical initiatives.
    • Maintain high standards of scientific credibility, professionalism, and ethical engagement in all external interactions.
  • Medical/Scientific Support and Education
    • Serve as a scientific expert and maintain current knowledge of clinical guidelines, competitor data, treatment pathways, and emerging evidence within oncology.
    • Support the planning and execution of medical education initiatives, scientific symposia, and advisory boards.
    • Deliver internal scientific training to support disease, product, data, and compliant communication knowledge.
    • Support the medical review and localization of scientific materials where appropriate.
    • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests with accurate, balanced, non-promotional information in accordance with approved processes and local requirements.
  • Evidence Generation and Research Support
    • Identify opportunities for local evidence generation, investigator-initiated studies (IIS), real-world evidence (RWE), registries, and collaborative research.
    • Support feasibility assessments and site identification for clinical trials and research initiatives.
    • Facilitate interactions between investigators and internal stakeholders.
    • Gather clinical insights and unmet medical needs to support medical strategy development.
    • Contribute to publication planning and scientific dissemination activities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Compliance
    • Collaborate closely with Market Access, Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, and Clinical Operations teams.
    • Contribute to annual medical planning and execution.
    • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, local regulations, and applicable industry codes.

Qualifications

  • Education Required: Medical Degree (MBBS/MD), Pharmacy Degree (BPharm/MPharm/PharmD), PhD, or other relevant life sciences qualifications.
  • Preferred: Advanced clinical, scientific, or research training in solid tumors, oncology, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience (MSL)/ 4 years of experience (Sr. MSL) in Medical Affairs, clinical practice, or related roles. Prior experience as an MSL is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the Malaysian healthcare ecosystem. Experience supporting clinical research, RWE, or publication activities. Demonstrated ability to build credible, professional relationships with healthcare professionals.
