Role Description
The Medical Records Specialist at Jazz Imaging plays a crucial role in managing and organizing patient information to support healthcare processes. Maintaining and updating patient records in both electronic and paper formats, including details about medical history, treatments, test results, and diagnoses.

Accurately coding health information data for reimbursement and research, requiring understanding and leveraging coding conventions and medical terminologies.

Completing high-volume data entry tasks while minimizing errors and maintaining high standards of data integrity.

Aiding in the processing of medical claims by ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

Ensuring patient confidentiality in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).

Communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses or to obtain additional information.

Performing regular audits and quality checks to validate the accuracy of records.
Qualifications

An associate degree in health information technology or a related field is required.

A bachelor's degree in the same areas is preferred.

Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) would be an advantage.

At least two years of work experience in healthcare information management or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential.

Excellent data entry and administrative skills paired with meticulous attention to detail.

Proven experience with electronic health records (EHR) and other hospital information systems would be beneficial.
