Role Description

As a Specialist – Medical Proofreader, you will be responsible for final-stage proofreading and editorial quality control across medical, scientific, and promotional assets. This includes:

• Validating scientific claims
• Ensuring compliance with AMA and client-specific style guides
• Checking references, claims, and content consistency
• Contributing to maintaining editorial SOPs
• Mentoring junior proofreaders
• Driving editorial innovation across platforms and processes

Your Day-to-Day Deliverables Will Include:

• Final reviews and annotations of scientific and promotional content
• Logging tracked changes, feedback comments, and review documentation
• Addressing MLR review escalations related to grammar, style, or accuracy
• Coaching team members and guiding them on editorial best practices
• Documenting and managing content version control and audit trails
• Participating in QA reviews and performance evaluations from an editorial perspective

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field
• 3–8 years of experience in medical proofreading, editorial quality control, or scientific content review within an agency, publishing, or pharma setting
• Expertise in AMA Manual of Style, with hands-on experience working on MLR-reviewed deliverables
• Strong familiarity with regulatory guidelines and promotional content standards across healthcare and life sciences
